The name "Hollywood" Paul
Litteral has appeared on numerous hit records spanning many
genres of music! Buster Poindexter's "HOT, HOT, HOT", James
Brown's "LIVING IN AMERICA", Cameo's "WORD UP", Joe Cocker's "
UNCHAIN MY HEART", The B-52's "LOVE SHACK", Joan
Jett's "I HATE MYSELF FOR LOVING YOU", Tom Wait's "RAIN DOGS",
Albert Collins' "COLD SNAP", Hal Wilner's tribute to Disney
"STAY AWAKE" with Bonnie Raitt and Buster Poindexter, Unwrapped's " BOUNCIN'
BACK", "ELECTRIC RELAXATION" "CHECK THE RHYME", Angie
Stone's "BROTHER" and many, many more.
The horns toured with bands
ranging from the J. Geils band, Robert Plant and the Honey
drippers, Pat Benatar, and the Rolling Stones. They performed
on TV shows including The Tonight Show, Late Night with David
Letterman, the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, the Jim Henson
Muppet Hour and the 1989 "Cinemax Legends of Rock n' Roll"
concert backing Ray Charles, B.B. Kings, Jerry Lee Lewis,
Little Richard and Fat's Domino. As a founding member of The
Uptown Horns, Paul honed his craft as a consummate side-man.
The quartet went to England with their own group and recorded
original material for EMI/UK, yielding the underground classic
single "SEX WITH MY EX". They also released a retrospective EP
titled "A SHOT IN THE DARK" on Roadside records. As
members of Buster Poindexter's Banshees of Blue, they recorded
two LPs including songs they co-wrote with Poindexter and
performed on numerous TV shows, in music videos and films.
Paul split with the Horns
in 1992, and continued to record and tour with artists like Wynonna
Judd, Elton John, Aaron Neville, and Angie Stone. While in Nashville
Tennessee, he led and Produced band project "The
Blue Zone" featuring legendary bassist Anthony Jackson and award
winner Dave Innis on keyboards, and Pink Floyd/Rolling Stones vocalist
Lorelei McBroom. That band brought about his collaborative horn work
with Paulie Cerra
(sax) and the birth of Pacific Coast Horns. Lorelei McBroom has
most recently been backing Rod
Stewart and has plans in the works with Anthony Jackson to
form a new band out of New York as Paul continues his solo
career.
Paul since relocating to
Los Angeles he joined "Unwrapped". This unique, instrumental
ensemble records Hip Hop hits with instrumental leads and Paul has been
recording and touring with them in recent times. He also records for
"Def Jazz" on Verve.

Paul became co-musical director while
acting as the show's band leader in the successful 2 year run of "Louis
and Keely Live at the Sahara". He worked with thespians
Jake Broder and Vanessa Claire Smith
and directing legend Taylor Hackford. They played L.A.'s trendy Sacred
Fools Theatre, The Matrix Theatre, The Geffin Playhouse, and The El
Portal. This ensemble piece is destined for Broadway and the likes, and
will eventually make it to the big screen.
Paul's solo career is blossoming in Los
Angeles, as this gifted artist continues hitting his stride. A trumpet
is being designed in his name by Orlando's Wind Instruments aptly titled
the - MODEL HPL - which stands for Hollywood
