GREAT GIG IN  THE SKY

With the passing of Pink Floyd Keyboardist Rick Wright in 2008, David Gilmour made the statement that Pink Floyd would no longer tour. Lorelei's being a great fan of their music asked who is the world's best Pink Floyd Tribute band? The Australian Pink Floyd was the unanimous answer from all the musos in the know. Lorelei contacted them and found out they had a US tour in the works and was asked to join them for a few dates. That offer grew into Lorelei joining the entire US/Canadian tour and their 2012 tour schedule as well. "I really loved working with the Aussies. They really know their Floyd, and do it VERY WELL! It has been a pleasure to become a new member of their outfit and I'm looking forward to our future work together!" says Lorelei.

It was a magical night in Anaheim California when Lorelei and her sister Durga McBroom gave a duo performance on the Pink Floyd Classic "Great Gig in the Sky" during the 2011 U.S./Canadian Australian Pink Floyd tour. "Durga had come to see the show in Los Angeles and given her notable history with Pink Floyd, Steve Mac (one of TAPFS founding members) spoke to her about joining us in Anaheim a couple days later." says Lorelei. "Durga and I began our work as professional backing vocalists with Pink Floyd during their 'Momentary Lapse Of Reason' tour at the Omni Theater in Atlanta Georgia. They asked me to join the world tour.  I was under contract with Capitol/EMI records expecting an imminent CD release and declined. I recommended that they take Durga and she continued to tour with Pink Floyd consistently after that. After a complete revamp of the Capitol staff, I was released and joined Pink Floyd with Durga on the Delicate Sound of Thunder Tour  in Europe. Having had a baby (soon after working with the Rolling Stones) before the Division Bell tour, I was not able to go on that tour." Durga continued working with Pink Floyd on their Division Bell CD and tour, as well as David Gilmour's subsequent solo tour. "Dave Gilmour will always be close to my heart for giving us both such a wonderful opportunity in music and for being such a kind and generous man!" Lorelei states.
